(Hearing on Salton Sea Management Plan)…The Hearing was hosted by the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee.

It was held Tuesday in Sacramento. Testimony was taken from stakeholders and others concerned with the restoration of the Salton Sea. One of those to testify was Mike Lynes, Director of Public Policy at Audubon California. Lynes said, like members of the Committee, his group was concerned about the state not meeting the goals for habitat restoration and dust control that it committed to in December. Lynes said for the state to instill confidence, it needs to start making good on its promises. He said it is of critical importance to California and the region that we manage the Salton Sea to support local communities and wildlife. He said Tuesday’s hearing was a key step forward. Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia is the Chairman of the Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee.
