(Operation Imperial Valley Heat)….It was conducted Wednesday.
,The Operation was a collaborative effort between the US Marshalls Service and local, state and Federal Law Enforcement agencies. It involved 86 law enforcement officers. Officials say the operation focused on high-risk felons, such as those wanted for gang affiliation, weapons charges, sex crimes, armed robbery and homicide. During the Operation they successfully arrested 36 wanted fugitives in the county. The goal of the Operation was to arrest 3 criminals. Participating in the Operation, along with US Marshalls, were the FBI, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Drug Enforcement Agency, Department of Homeland Security Narcotics Group 2 and 3, California Highway Patrol K-9 unit, Border Patrol El Centro Sector Intel Unit and BORSTAR Team, County Probation, Brawley Police, Calexico PD, Imperial and El Centro Police Departments and the County Sheriff’s Office. Combing their resources, participating agencies were able to conduct the Operation in one day.
