(High levels of PM 2.5, again)…The Border area had a brief break from the Air Pollution.
Thursday morning, it came back. PM 2.5 is a finite particulate matter, created from mainly vehicle emissions. The Calexico Ethel Street monitoring station had recorded almost 7 days straight of high levels of PM 2.5. Levels lowered Tuesday and Wednesday. At 9:00 Thursday morning, the Air Pollution Control District says the levels hit 101 on the Air Quality Index, for a condition of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. The sensitive groups are the elderly, small children and those with Heart or Respiratory disease. It is recommended those people avoid heavy exertion or remain indoors until the high levels of PM 2.5 are lower.
