The City of Brawley has named a new Chief of Police.
Last night the Brawley City Council announced that Michael Crankshaw will serve as the new Chief of Police. Crankshaw has been a police officer for over 25 years. He started with the El Cajon Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer and was hired by the City of El Centro in 1988. Crankshaw was named a Sergeant in 1997 and Commander in 2010. The new Chief is also a part-time Criminal Justice Adjunct instructor at Imperial Valley College. Crankshaw is married with five children and two grandchildren.
Brawley Mayor Sam Couchman said , " Police Chief Crankshaw is a proven leader and will be a great addition to the City of Brawley Police Department."
