47 year old charged with attempted murder, and more

(Attempted homicide in Yuma)…Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots fired call.

The call came in at 12:44 Wednesday afternoon. When they arrived at the residence in the 800 block of Eleanor Avenue they found a 32-year-old Hispanic male suffering multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center by Rural Metro ambulance with life threatening injuries. He was later flown to Saint Joseph Hospital, where is condition was listed as critical. The Yuma Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau conducted several interviews at the scene and were able to identify a suspect. On Thursday at around 1:00 pm the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team served a high-risk search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Dale Avenue. The Team surrounded the residence and evacuated the surrounding homes. The SRT called the suspect out. He exited the residence and was taken into custody. A search of the home resulted in the discovery of numerous weapons, which were seized. The suspect, 47-year-old Robert Moore, was booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with Attempted 1st degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault causing serious physical injury. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
