Residents are being asked to step-up

(Wednesday is Red Shoe Day)…That is the day Imperial Valley helps Ronald McDonald House.

They do that by raising as much money as possible. Ronald McDonald House in San Diego accommodations for parents and other family members of a child hospitalized in San Diego. 25 % of those who use Ronald McDonald House come from Imperial County. Wednesday groups of volunteers will be on various corners and various intersections around the Valley. They will have size 14 replica clown shoes, taking donations from motorists from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Donations will also be taken at the front lobby at El Centro Regional Medical Center. Also, McDonalds Restaurants around the Valley and in Yuma are accepting one-dollar donations in exchange for a miniature Red Shoe. The Goal for Red Shoe Day is to raise more than they did last year. Last Red Shoe Day, volunteers raised over $30,000.
