(Elderly woman busted)…She was allegedly trying to smuggle narcotics across the border.
It was reported at the Tecate Port of Entry Wednesday. The 81-year-old woman was driving a 2011 Chrysler 2000. The vehicle and the driver were sent to the secondary inspection area, where a canine alerted to the vehicle. A search by Customs and Border Protection officers resulted in the discovery of 92 pounds of heroin. The 35 wrapped packages were discovered in the vehicles Rocker Panels. The heroin was valued at $870,000. The woman, a US Citizen, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.
