An El Centro man is dead following an early morning shooting Sunday.
According to the El Centro Police Department , officers responded to the area of Hamilton and the Railroad tracks shortly before 4:00 a.m. Sunday. Arriving officers located 24-year old Christopher Erasmo Torres who had been shot and fatally wounded. Officers were able to determine that Torres and his brother were in the area when they were approached by a third man. A brief verbal exchange ended when the third man pulled out a gun and started shooting. ECPD Criminal Investigations Division along with the Imperial County Coroner's Office and the Imperial County Sheriff's Office Scientific Investigations Unit and currently involved in the investigation.
