(Jocelyn Mejia receives the Allied Professional Award for Outstanding Contributions to Victim Services)...The Imperial County Department of Social Services announced the recognition.

They said Mejia was a dedicated social worker within the Children and Families Services division. She received the award for her exceptional contributions to victim services. She was awarded the esteemed Allied Professional Award through the Office for Victims of Crime, National Crime Victims' Service Awards. The Award acknowledges individuals from various disciplines who demonstrate outstanding commitment to supporting crime victims. Mejia has 9 years experience in child welfare. She began her journey at the Betty Jo McNeece Receiving Home. The Department says she has since become a beacon of love, respect and care for the county's youngest victims. Mejia received the award in April at an event in Washington D.C.
